Friday February 17


Family Skate Night, South Neebing Community Centre

Skate under the stars at this outdoor community rink from 6 to 8 pm. Music, hot chocolate and treats provided.

Family Movie Night, St. Paul’s Anglican Church

Come in your pjs to this free movie night to watch How to Train Your Dragon on the big screen. Concessions available for $1. Show starts at 6:30 pm.

Live Pro Wrestling, Crickets Comedy Club

Canadian Wrestling’s Elite is celebrating its 14th anniversary with a Canadian tour including a stop in TBay that starts at 6pm. Tickets required.

Saturday February 18

Pancakes + Skating, West Arthur Community Centre

Go out for breakfast with a pancake meal from 9:30 to 10:30 (tickets available at the door or by pre-purchase). There’s also skating and a bonfire from 10:30 to noon.

Don Kettering Memorial Ice Racing, Mission Bay on Lake Superior

Zoom! Kids and kids at heart with a need for speed will love watching the ice races on Lake Superior, Mission Bay, starting at noon.


February 18-20

Voyageur Winter Carnival, Fort William Historical Park

Take your pick of fun indoor and outdoor activities all weekend long, including winter games, visiting the farm animals, music, sledding and tubing hills, the sugar shack, snow maze and snow fort, curling, snowshoeing and much more! Admission required, 11 am to 5 pm daily

Ice fishing, various

February 18-20 is a free fishing weekend in Ontario. This means that you do not need to buy a fishing licence, but be sure to follow conservation licence catch limits.


Sunday February 19

Winter FunDay, Marina Park

Skate on the outdoor rink, try some activities with Youth Move and get a sneak peek of the snow sculptures that will be unveiled the following day. Free, 2 to 4 pm.

Monday February 20

Family Day with the Giant, Sleeping Giant Provincial Park

Spend the day outside at the park’s 70 km of groomed ski trails, ice fishing on Lake Marie Louise, snowshoeing or skating at the new 300-metre skating oval (there will be a bonfire adjacent at campsites 85-96). The Visitors Centre will be open from 8:30 am to 4 pm. $15.50 day use parking pass required.

Family Day Pow Wow, Victoria Inn

Enjoy the music, food, dancing and community at this Family Day Pow Wow. Sacred Pipe and Drum Ceremonies at 10 am, Grand Entry at 1 pm, feast at 5:30 pm

SnowDay on the Waterfront, Marina Park

At this free annual event, check out the snow sculpture competition, DJ skate party, horse-drawn shuttle, petting zoo, science activities with Science North and Boreal Museum, outdoor art projects, snowshoeing, outdoor games, indoor crafts, bonfires and more. Runs from noon to 5 pm.

Get active Ski, tube and snowshoe! Be sure to check out the offers and events at Mount Baldy, Loch Lomond, Kamview, Tapiola and Lappe. As well, Maple Tops has drop-in times on Monday February 20 from 10am-noon and 1-3pm and the Conservatory is open this weekend too.
